Hampi & Hippie Island (2D 1N)

Vijayanagara
Stay Gourmet Meals Transport Expert Guide

Hello Backpackers,

Have you been Hampi-fied at least once in your life?

Located on the banks of the Tungabadra River, Hampi is a hippie and backpacker's dream come true. This place has a lot of interesting things, such as boulder-filled hillocks, monuments, ruins, temples, relaxed cafes, art, shopping, trekking, etc. It is 340 kilometers away from Bangalore and is a fantastic weekend escape.

The ethereal remains of Hampi transport you back in time and leave you in awe of how lovely this city must have been centuries ago. It is a completely different world. It served as the capital of Sri Krishnadevaraya's opulent Vijayanagara kingdom. Hampi was among the wealthiest cities in the world during its height.

There is yet more to discover if you find this to be intriguing enough. In the Ramayana, Hampi too has mythological significance. According to legend, it is the Kishkinda kingdom of Sugreeva, Hanuman, and Vali. He is claimed to have been born at Anjanadri, a temple on a hillside.

We will stay on the Hippie Island side, ascend a few boulder-filled hillocks, and take in the picturesque views from the summit, which includes the famous sunsets, while we wonder at the colorful, vintage environment of the Hampi.
